World Bird Wednesday XXXX - AKA Earth shaking Tuesday in Northern VA

Today was quite the day in Northern VA. It isn't everyday that you feel a 5.8 earthquake. Surprisingly, I don't think the birds or other animals even noticed. or did they?

What's all that shaking?

We are just going to eat.

Was that an aftershock?

Follow me, stay in line.

Most important, if another hits, everyone .....duck

  7. Wasn't it like War of the Worlds with everyone freaking out yesterday? I think our friends along the Pacific rim may have had a good laugh at the Atlantic coasts expense yesterday. All the while hurricane Irene looms closer. This maybe a very rough week for Virginia after all. This morning the news reports the Washington Monument maybe damaged! Good lord kid, keep your head down!

  8. I don't know if my birds here in Bethesda noticed yesterday but I thought the house was going to fall down for a few seconds! Nice images and a good tie-in to what was shaking yesterday. :-)

  11. Great post Steve. Living in California my entire life, I know what the quake feels like and I believe that animals have a sense of it coming before it happens.
